Unusual Shared Christmas Parties in London 2026

For teams who would rather be doing something than sitting through a three-course dinner: funfairs, circus, curling, murder mysteries and game shows.

  • 8 parties
  • £85 – £180 + VAT per person

What are the most unusual shared Christmas parties in London?

The formats that break from the seated-dinner template: Winters of the World (Bavarian curling and food stations), Urban Funfair (a working indoor fairground with dodgems), Cirque de Noël (immersive circus across a historic warehouse), Cirque (a genuine big top with aerialists and fire performers), Murder Mystery (interactive drama across the courses), The Imposters (a Traitors-format game show) and Carnivale (Latin carnival with dodgems and aerialists).

There is a particular kind of Christmas party problem that a ballroom cannot solve: a team who do not know each other, a room where half the group will not dance, or a company that has had the same hotel dinner four years running. All of the parties on this page exist to solve it.

The mechanism is always the same — give people something to do that is not talking to whoever they were seated next to. Curling, dodgems, a murder to solve, a traitor to identify. It sounds gimmicky written down. In practice it is the difference between a room that warms up at 11pm and one that warms up at 8:15pm.

Prices here span the whole market, from £85 + VAT to £149 + VAT, so 'different' does not mean 'expensive'.

Pick by what your group actually needs

  • Nobody knows each other → Murder Mystery or The Imposters. Roles are assigned in advance and people are talking within twenty minutes.
  • Half the team won't dance → Urban Funfair or Carnivale. Dodgems, rides and games give the non-dancers somewhere real to go.
  • A sit-down dinner is the wrong shape → Winters of the World. Curling, food stations, no seating plan.
  • You want spectacle → Cirque de Noël or Cirque. Aerialists, fire performers, acts between courses.
  • A big headcount to entertain → Winters of the World takes up to 750, Cirque seats 700.

One thing to check before you book

Interactive formats have minimum numbers for a reason. The Imposters needs 15 guests or more before the voting mechanic works at all, and ideally a table of a dozen or more to play properly. Winters of the World takes groups from 10.

And check the food format against your expectations. Winters of the World is stations, not a seated dinner. Urban Funfair is two courses plus dessert stations. If someone in your organisation is expecting a formal three-course meal with speeches, say so early.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

What's the best Christmas party for a team that doesn't know each other?
An interactive format. The Murder Mystery at Tower Hill gives each guest a role before the evening starts and runs the drama across the three courses; The Imposters at Victoria does the same through a Traitors-style game show. Winters of the World achieves it differently, through 40 minutes of Bavarian curling.
Is there a London Christmas party with funfair rides?
Two. Urban Funfair at Magazine London is built around a working indoor fairground with dodgems and a carousel-style bar, and Carnivale at Battersea Park includes dodgems alongside acrobats and a live six-piece band. At both, the rides are included in the ticket.
Do these parties still include dinner?
Yes, but in different shapes. The circus and murder mystery formats serve a full three-course seated dinner. Urban Funfair is two courses plus dessert stations. Winters of the World serves one main from a food station rather than a seated meal.
